Posted @withregram • @lotus_brook Going on a half term jolly meant that I hadn't been to this site for a couple of week. It's year 2 of an annual and perennial mix on what used to be just a huge grassed area. Loving the contours and height variations 😁🌼🐝 @regenerussefton @scouseflowerhouse #wildflowers #bootle #flowersofinstagram #greenlcr #headnorth

Thank you, Lin, for your beautiful work and for getting with us on this journey!

Repost from @paperbydragonfly Good morning everyone! Well, that reel was a wild ride, and now, today, all those gorgeous flowers are parcelled up and waiting for a courier. They will be displayed with the Hillsborough Memorial Banner at the Design Museum, Kensington.

The banner is part of an exhibition about football - #designingthebeautifulgame

I’ve thought a lot about these banners whilst I’ve been working on the project, and they are all about communication. They convey messages that can be seen by millions!! You’re supporting one of the top teams in the world, millions of people globally are watching - and they can all see your banner!

Peter’s banner is a memorial - the tragedy that unfurled at Hillsborough on that day in April 1989 affected people all over the country, but especially across the Merseyside region. If you are unsure what happened, watch the documentary ‘Hillsborough’ currently available on BBC iPlayer. Highly recommended.

Many lives were needlessly lost that day, many of them so shocking young. I think, having worked on this project and met people who have been so intimately involved with this dreadful tragedy for more than 30 years, that as much as we remember the victims, we must not forget the survivors, who will always carry the scars.

I am honoured to have been involved with this. I am also aware these pictures mostly show blue flowers!!! But the base flowers are the red poppies. #comeonyoureds !!

Huge thanks to everyone who has supported this project 🙏

Wildflower drawing with Nina Edge (@edge_nina) Tomorrow 18th August Wednesday 2pm - 4.30pm @LivCathedral

Participants will be encouraged to pick 2-3 wildflowers from around the cathedral and to do a botanical drawing session with the artist.

Scouse Flowerhouse is working with @NML_Muse
to make city displays of our urban wildflowers for this autumn and winter.

Her work has been shown locally and internationally.

All ages and abilities are welcome. The drawing will happen inside the cathedral and observation sessions whilst picking the flowers.
